This book received many awards in Denmark.

The story of a family, over 3 generations, from Norway to Denmark.
We come across : an alcoholic cubist engineer, a monster "doghead", a rude parrot, sons escaping to sea, wood creatures who turn up in real life, a female mountain-climber, ghosts, a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, ears full of mud, a brother recording his sister & her boyfriends, plastic noses, a nut-kicker. And more!

Totally gripping, cynical and full of life, for better or for worse. Really great story!
